The best of Friuli. Lovely monuments in the Autumn light, mild temperatures, people flooding out in the streets…There is a festival. People stop at kiosks, taste specialities of local cuisine, drink the excellent wines of this land…
While strolling around you will notice traditional handicrafts, admire the various stalls, meet other people.
This land feels proud of itself. Tourists here are happy to discover a city that does not show off but is rich in values. And they taste “frico”, “polenta”, pork meat, but also Austrian dishes in the stands of neighbouring Carinthia and Steiermark (Styria).
People meet friends, say “mandi” to each other, enjoy ice-creams, an apple pancake and have a coffee in S. Giacomo Square, then walk up to the Castle Hill where the flag with the eagle – emblem of Friuli – sways gently in the breeze.
